These 1-Ingredient, 1-Minute Zero-Carb Chips are brilliant, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. In this post you’ll also find a quick recipe for Spicy Cajun Avocado Mayo—an ideal dip for the chips. I include step-by-step photos for the mayo and three short videos: microwave preparation, oven preparation, and a separate clip for the avocado mayo. My family loved dunking the crunchy chips into the silky, spicy dip; I hope yours will too.
Tips for making the Spicy Cajun Avocado Mayo
The pepperoni chips are so simple I didn’t include progress photos for them, but two videos below show how to make them in a microwave or a conventional oven. The Spicy Cajun Avocado Mayo photos are included to make the steps clear and appetizing.
To make the dip, gather your ingredients first.

Halve a ripe Hass avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small bowl.

After removing the pit, scoop the flesh into a bowl and mash with a fork. You can leave the dip slightly chunky or mash until smooth—both are delicious.

Mash the avocado to your preferred texture, then add mayonnaise, lemon juice, cayenne, and Cajun seasoning. Stir until evenly combined.

Mix until everything is evenly combined. That’s it—simple, fresh, and rich.

Serve the dip with the pepperoni chips and enjoy the contrast of crunchy, savory chips and creamy, zesty mayo.

How the 1-Ingredient Zero-Carb Chips came about
The chips are simply pepperoni slices cooked until crisp. I discovered they crisp up beautifully in the microwave in about one minute, which makes them a perfect, zero-carb snack for keto or low-carb diets. If you prefer, you can bake them in a conventional oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8–12 minutes until crunchy—watch closely so they don’t burn.
To make microwave pepperoni chips, arrange slices on a plate with space between each slice so they don’t stick. Microwave on high for about one minute, keeping an eye on them the first time you try this to find the ideal timing for your appliance. As they cool they firm up and become crispier. Transferring the chips to a paper towel right after cooking helps remove excess grease and keeps them crisp.
These chips are great on their own, but they become even better when paired with a rich dip like Spicy Cajun Avocado Mayo.
Below is a short video showing how to make the chips in the microwave:
Here’s a video showing how to make them in the oven (not one-minute, but still one-ingredient):

Variations and serving ideas
Stock up on pepperoni for parties—these chips disappear fast. Offer a variety of dips such as guacamole, pico de gallo, or ranch-style dressings, or try a cheesy kale spread for a different flavor profile. For variety, experiment with different pepperoni brands, salami, or other cured meats. You can also try topping slices with a little grated Parmesan before baking for a cheesy twist.
